Lawrence G. Walters is an American First Amendment attorney and anti-censorship advocate. He heads up Walters Law Group; www.firstamendment.com, and has practiced law since 1988. Walters is firmly-rooted in the free speech camp, and routinely handles prominent First Amendment cases in courts throughout the country.

In addition to his role as a private attorney, he serves as General Counsel for the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, a charitable group focused on affirming sexual freedom as a basic human right. Mr. Walters has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida, Law Studies Program, and as a founding member of the UCF Law Studies Department Advisory Council.

Mr. Walters is a past President and National Chairman of the First Amendment Lawyers Association, a group of respected First Amendment practitioners across the country. He created the Florida Bar's First Amendment Law Committee, and served as the Chairman of the Legal Panel of the ACLU of Florida, Central Chapter.

Lawrence has published numerous articles, book chapters and blog posts, including 7 law review articles in publications such as the Stanford Law & Policy Review, and the UNC School of Law, First Amendment Law Review. Mr. Walters has submitted amicus briefs supporting the prevailing party in 2 First Amendment cases at the U.S. Supreme Court, and has been involved in numerous precedent-setting free speech cases during his career. He is admitted to all state and federal courts in Florida, the Ninth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2016, he was certified as a foreign trained lawyer by the Canadian Federation of Law Societies.

Lawrence is interested in all aspects of technology, and has developed several devices to assist with legal compliance such as the Quick2257 and QuickDMCA mobile apps, and his patented BirthDateVerifier online age verification tool.
